A day to remember

Today is Israel Memorial Day

We remember our brothers and sisters, friends, fathers and mothers who died young, too young, and in their death made our resolve stronger, to protect our home and to make it worth their life and their death. One way you may be able to fathom the feelings of this day, is by imagining that your family is 5,700,000 people, and those young soldiers who gave their lives in service to your life are your own brothers and sisters, it really is like that, it is not a metaphor.

In a day like this, it is a heart breaking to be away from home. I was watching Israeli TV today, there were no commercials, there were story after story after story of young Israelis who died and the legacy they left for us, bitter sweet you may say, because as short as their lives have been, they did leave for us many lessons and a legacy to follow.

I wish our dedication for the growth and strength of Israel will justifies their sacrifice

And as we pray.. "May their souls be bundled in the bundle of life"

(The flower in the photo is the symbol of Israel Memorial Day)

A song, a dance and a ceremony that I watched today, maybe it will give you a sense of Israel Memorial Day.
